So to today's games. USA and Kuwait are in action as the former look to keep up with Chile. And All of Group H are in action as we wrap up the second round of group games - it's Saudi Arabia vs. Poland and France vs. Argentina.
USA vs. Kuwait
With Italy on six points and USA on three, the Americans can secure a second successive DWC second round appearance with a win here. If Kuwait fail to win, then Italy will have progressed whilst Hungary will be eliminated.
The Americans elect not to make any changes, whilst Kuwait replace Wahid Ali with Bader Al-Motawa. The new winger is playing further upfield, in the hope of exploiting USA’s soft defence.
Saudi Arabia were uninspiring in losing heavily to Argentina, whilst Poland did excellent to push France to a 3-3 draw. This is how Group H looks at the moment:
Anyway, Saudi Arabia take out Uvini, who had a shocker against Argentina, and bring in Hawsawi. They also bring in Eduardo for Villanueva. For Poland, Kostevych and Pazdan (part of the Polish side in Russia) replace Mladenovic and Rogne.
That draw gives Argentina not only the chance to progress with a win here, but to also secure top spot. But surely at some point France will click? Maybe this is South Africa all over again?
Glik was key in France’s qualification, and as he replaces Marquinhos in the team he will be wondering why he wasn’t there anyway. France don’t make any other changes, whilst Argentina remain unchanged.
