We've now completed half our groups. So far, it's been a good time to be a European side:
With Groups E & F concluding today, we'll see another four teams through, and there can only be a maximum of three European teams, so that's good. In both groups no team is confirmed as through, or out, yet. So who will make it through?
Group E
Group E
Argentina's confident victory over France put them in pole position in the group, and a win against bottom side UAE will see them win the group. This said, UAE were better against Canada than Argentina were, they were unlucky to win. However, they drew and it leaves Canada undefeated, which might cause France a little worry. But they will expect to beat the team they overcame 4-1 in last year's knockout stages.
Team news: France vs Canada
Ángel Di María makes way, with Mauro Icardi coming into the France team and Kylian Mbappé moving out to the wing. Canada have Michael Bradley back from suspension, so he comes in for Lucas Cavallini and they shift to a 4-1-4-1.

UAE's Lucas Galvao is only partially fit after an injury picked up against Canada, and so Yousif Jaber starts at left back. They also replace Keno with Balázs Dzsudzsák. Eduardo Salvio is suspended for accumulation of yellows, so Matías Zaracho comes in for Argentina.

FRAvCAN (9 mins): France get a free kick wide on the right. Neymar crosses it in, and Thiago Silva is left free at the far post to volley France ahead! That'll settle any nerves!
UAEvARG (19 mins): Argentina get the first good chance, as a UAE defensive mix-up lets Juan Fernando Quintero in, but Majed Nasser makes a good save. At the other end Dzsudzkák's free kick brings a brilliant save from Franco Armani.
FRAvCAN (31 mins): Pablo Piatti tests Keylor Navas as Canada nearly strike back immediately. Icardi flashes a header over at the other end, before the game enters something of a lull. France look fairly comfortable, and much more so when they double their lead through Mbappé! Thiago Silva tees up the youngster to rocket a shot past Maxime Crépeau from the edge of the box following a corner.
UAEvARG (38 mins): This has been a fairly even game. Armani pulls off another save to deny Omar Abdulrahman, but it's at the other end the breakthrough comes, as Ignacio Scocco heads in Quintero's corner! Once again, it's a set piece that makes the difference!
FRAvCAN (half time): Canada are a little unlucky; they've only allowed France to have 7 shots, but they trail after failing to deal with two set pieces.
UAEvARG (half time): On the stroke of half time Ignacio Piatti heads a corner at goal. Nasser gets a hand to it, but it requires Jaber to stop it going over the line! The LB is slow to get it away, and nearly allows Scocco to force it over, but he just about gets it away! It means there's still just the single goal between the sides at the interval. UAE need four goals to somehow qualify.
UAEvARG (62 mins): UAE's day is summed up as they weave pretty patterns about the pitch, but the move breaks down as it reaches the box. It's cleared up to Scocco, who tricks Tsukasa Shiotani and breaks down the right. He floats a cross over to Piatti, and he smashes his volley past Nasser! Argentina two up, and pretty certain to go through now!
FRAvCAN (75 mins): This is a fairly unremarkable game as France march towards the knockout stages. Jozy Altidore nearly gets in thanks to some good work by substitute Bojan, but Thiago Silva's fine game continues as he makes a fine challenge. But France seal the win when Neymar skins (French international) Rod Fanni to break into the box and fire in at the near post!
FRAvCAN (77 mins): A Canadian free kick is cleared, but only as far as Bojan. However, he is closed down and plays it back towards Laurent Ciman, and Memphis Depay - on for Icardi - intercepts, races through, and drills it in! France have hit Canada for four again!
UAEvARG (90+4 mins): UAE are denied a late consolation as Armani makes a superb reflex save to deny Shiotani. And Argentina rub their noses in it in the final seconds of the match as Enzo Pérez's header from a free kick comes back to him to tap in and wrap up a confident win that sees Argentina win the group!
Final score: UAE 0-3 Argentina

FRAvCAN (90+4 mins): France didn't have to work very hard for that win. Both in the sense that Canada didn't really get going at all, and also that France basically converted all their good chances. They go through to the next round on a high.
Final score: France 4-0 Canada

Group F
I said earlier that no team is certain to go through or out, but it seems highly unlikely that England will fail to progress, and Ivory Coast would need a miracle to go through. It's realistically between Ukraine and Chile. The former have to equal the latter's result, but they face England whilst Chile take on Ivory Coast.
Team news: England vs Ukraine
Mo Salah is out for two games, whilst Aymeric Laporte is suspended after two yellows in two games. This means Bernardo Silva finally gets to start, whilst John Stones comes in at the back. Andrew Robertson also returns at LB after his suspension. Ukraine are unchanged, meaning that Artem Gromov's goalscoring cameo against Ivory Coast doesn't earn him a start.

Team news: Ivory Coast vs Chile
If Ivory Coast's challenge wasn't tough enough, they are also without Yaya Touré and Roland Lamah through suspension. Pacome Zouzoua and Wilfried Yéssoh come in. Chile's only change is to bring in César Pinares in for Pablo Mouche.

ENGvUKR (9 mins): England show inventiveness in getting the ball into dangerous positions. Each time Ukraine clear their lines they are defending again within moments. It's tough pressure, and it allows England to keep the ball in the opposition third. Trent Alexander-Arnold keeps the ball from Ismaily and lays it off to Silva, and his cross finds Sadio Mané who heads England into an early lead!
ENGvUKR (11 mins): England's next attack breaks down and Ukraine have the chance to clear. However, they don't take it. Instead, Maycon plays a ludicrous ball across his own box, straight to Silva who lays it off with a delicate pass to Sergio Aguero, who smashes it home!
CIVvCHI (16 mins): Ivory Coast actually boss the opening spell, at least in terms of possession, as Chile's passing is continually wayward. But they can't create their own chances, whilst at the other end Luciano Aued finds Matías Rodríguez overlapping. His first-time shot is powerful, but Abdoul Karim Cissé gets a good hand to it... but it's not enough, and the ball goes in via the post! That's the security Chile wanted, they're sitting very pretty now.
CIVvCHI (22 mins): Rodríguez's aggressive overlapping lead to Chile's goal, but this time it allows Ivory Coast to break down the left. Sékou Samaké's cross is cleared only as far as Fonsinho, and he pulls it across for Yéssoh to stroke home an equaliser!
CIVvCHI (38 mins): Ivory Coast have a huge chance to go into the lead, as Yéssoh breaks Chile's offside trap to get one-on-one, but he's denied by Alexis Martín Arias. After that early goal, Chile are struggling to create anything. And they let Ivory Coast in again soon after when Juan Manuel Insaurralde is caught in possession by Claude Singoné. He plays a swift one-two with Yéssoh to get in down the left. He shoots early and finds the top corner! It's turned around here, and it's great news for Ukraine, who go back into 2nd!
CIVvCHI (half time): On the brink of the break Chile get a free kick on the right of the box. Fernández fires it in towards Insaurralde, and the centre back makes amends for his error by heading Chile level and back into 2nd! Chile are pretty lucky to be level, Ivory Coast have had more chances as they look impressive on the break. Chile need to be more cohesive if they are to ensure they progress.
ENGvUKR (half time): After that rapid double-salvo, neither team has created much. Ukraine are doing an okay job of getting the ball in midfield, but they fail to really test England in defence. It's hard to see how this game can turn around currently. At the break England replace Liverpool pair Alexander-Arnold and Mané to prevent a suspension in the knockout rounds. Raheem Sterling and Joao Cancelo make it 6 Man City players on the field.
CIVvCHI (50 mins): Ivory Coast defend a Chile corner and launch a dangerous attack of their own. Yéssoh forces Arias into a fine save with a powerful shot, and Chile survive for now.
ENGvUKR (61 mins): England are so comfortable. Ukraine have never really found their attacking fluency in this tournament, and they slip further behind when Sterling tees up N'Golo Kanté to belt the ball into the top corner! Ukraine look out of this game, but as long as they don't concede two more goals, they will be position to qualify should Ivory Coast find a win.
CIVvCHI (90+4 mins): After a thrilling first half, the second period is terrible in comparison. Despite Chile refusing to back down from their attacking mindset, and Ivory Coast beginning to push men forwards, there are no highlights from the 50th minute onwards, which means Chile earn the point that somehow sees them through! Ivory Coast deserved the win, but a point means at least they got something from their debut DWC.

ENGvUKR (90+4 mins): Fabinho hits the post late on, as England secure an incredibly easy win. They have been utterly dominant in this group, and go forward in high spirits. Ukraine failed to add to their 2 first half shots, and are sent home packing after a pretty miserable DWC.

Today's results sets up two very tasty knockout fixtures. South American rivals Argentina and Chile will take each other on, not long after they met in the semis of the South American Championship. And England's reward for winning their group is a clash with fellow 'big five' team France. They both promise to be stand-out games in the next round.
Our next update finishes off the group stage, as Groups G & H conclude. Group G is all done, except for whether Brazil or France win the group, but Group H sees all four teams in with a chance of qualification.
